about

"Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania is a hell of a long way from any surfable waves and it’s highly doubtful the four guys in Eww Yaboo are taking it down to the Susquehanna River. However, what they do get up to in the home studio they call “The Notch” is totally amped up tremolo fueled and fuzzed out rock. Blasting off the A-side, ‘Make It Fast’ does exactly as it says on the package. Hitting first with an avalanche of noise, the pulsating bass line and reverberating guitars take off galloping at a gonzo pace. Jared Kozemko’s artillery firing drums don’t do anything to hold his band mates back either. It’s not hard to imagine that Drew Carsillo’s opening line, “I see you looking from your house/and I know you’re finding something out”, could have been inspired by neighbors phoning in noise complaints.

Eww Yaboo like it loud. ‘So Many of the Kids’ is their bunker-buster. As the rhythm slowly fades in, crackling with distortion, you might be fooled into thinking the A-side blew your speakers. It didn’t, but ‘So Many of the Kids’ will. It’s one of the heaviest sounds I’ve heard this year that still maintains a real pop song sensibility. A hip-shaking beach party beat bashes and crashes out under a melodic hook that’s so big you could catch a great-white shark on it." (aroomfullofrecords.com)
